Sunbeam Properties and the Miramar Park of Commerce partner with local community organizations throughout the year and are committed to serving all of South Florida.

Hangin’ With 5-0: In 2008, at a time when youth programs are threatened by budget cuts, Sunbeam Properties and the Miramar Park of Commerce stepped up to donate $30,000 to help save Hangin’ with 5-0, a summer program for teens in Miramar, and has never looked back. Miramar Park of Commerce continues to partner with the Miramar Police Athletic League and the City of Miramar today to sponsor this program which offers kids a free, one-of-a-kind summer camp experience for nine to 14-year-olds who are selected by school resource officers and guidance counselors for the program. The students participate in a weekly summer camp free-of-charge, which includes trips to the movies, excursions to the beach, live animal shows, airboat rides and more alongside Miramar’s dedicated police officers. Each day, breakfast and lunch are served, and the program concludes with a celebratory lunch.

Sunbeam Polar Express: Since 2016, the staff at the Miramar Park of Commerce has collected thousands of toy and gift donations from tenants in the Park, brightening the holidays for hundreds of underserved children in Miramar and bringing cheer to pediatric patients spending the holiday season in Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. The staff, decked in themed costumes, delivers toys, games, bikes, books and more in a procession of vehicles decorated in themed holiday décor to the Miramar Police Department, who then distributes them prior to the holidays. In appreciation of all those tenants who drop off donations, Miramar Park of Commerce treats participants to a festive holiday barbecue complete with food, beverage and holiday tunes.

Habitat for Humanity: Sunbeam Properties has a long-established partnership with Habitat for Humanity, building numerous homes throughout South Florida. The Miramar Park of Commerce supports the builds with monetary donations and volunteers who, among other tasks, hang wall furring and ceiling strip and prepare the roofs for inspection.

NAIOP: The Miramar Park of Commerce is a valued sponsor of NAIOP South Florida, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association and the nation’s leading association for developers, owners, investors and asset managers in industrial, office and related commercial real estate. The Miramar Park of Commerce is represented through board appointments, as speakers on panels, hosting events and winning numerous awards including Developer of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Deal of the Year, Rookie of the Year and more. The Miramar Park of Commerce frequently hosts NAIOP events at the Park and underwrites several initiatives including a stop on the annual bus tour, always going above and beyond to execute an event that epitomizes the year’s theme, creating an enjoyable and productive experience for attendees and showcasing the unparalleled offerings at the Miramar Park of Commerce.

City of Miramar: The Miramar Park of Commerce and Sunbeam Properties have donated resources and funding to build the Ansin Sports Complex, with a state-of-the-art IMF-certified track and a stadium for national and international track meets, football bowl games, amateur soccer games, as well as numerous special events and concerts, and additional park amenities. The Ansin Family Art Gallery at the Miramar Cultural Center also honors the Ansin family, owner of Sunbeam Properties and the Miramar Park of Commerce.

Community Support: Over the years, the Miramar Park of Commerce has been the site for food drives for United Way of Broward County and supply drives for America’s Moms for Soldiers, for those who have a military parent on deployment. The Park also partners with Feeding South Florida and Hispanic Unity of Florida, among others, and is a past sponsor of the U.S. Paralympic Track & Field National Championships and NACAC Track and Field Championship.
